Hi, y’all, I’m Krystal
– Iron Warrior, Anemia Survivor, and founder of Three Arrows
Before I dive into sharing the the information I have planned for you on this blog, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself, share a bit about my story and how I became the Iron Warrior.

My anemia almost killed me. ๐ฎ
As a result of my experience, I am passionate about helping women who are struggling with iron deficiency to fight for their health. My goal is to be a friend and ally on your journey, whether it’s through arming you with the power of knowledge and education or through the supplements I’ve created…because I have faced the same struggles!
(We have so much important stuff to talk about! )
I certainly never set out to spend years researching nutrition or start a supplement company…this is a path that I was undoubtedly called to step into (despite my initial efforts to pretend otherwise๐ ).
Mama x ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ

First and foremost, I’m a Wife and Mama. I’ve been married to my husband for 18 years (!!), and we have three pretty fabulous kiddos.
Once our family was complete, I chose to be a surrogate for dear friends of ours. I had twins the first time and a single baby the second surrogate pregnancy.
(So, if you do the math…I’ve been pregnant 5 times and had 6 babies! )
The Struggle is Real…๐คฆ
Pregnancy and babies are wonderful…but they require a lot from our bodies! I struggled with iron deficiency during my own pregnancies, but the physical demands of twins was the tipping point and my body could not keep up. My doctor warned me repeatedly during the pregnancy, “Your iron is low, get it up”, so I took supplements…again, “Your iron is low, get it up”, so I took supplements…but nothing helped! I was sooo tired, craved ice like crazy, and honestly wondered if I would survive the pregnancy.
When I delivered the twins via c-section my anemia caused me to hemorrhage, they transfused 9 units of blood to save my life, and I wound up in the ICU!
Me (dangerously anemic) before having the twins…and after life saving blood transfusions in the ICU
Life with iron deficiency…
For years I dealt with the struggles iron deficiency brings; extreme fatigue, depression, hair loss, heart palpitations, headaches, night sweats, etc. I had no choice but to push though it, there’s no time for Mama to be out of commission!
I worked so hard to try and get my levels up, taking multiple iron supplements 5+ times a day (which is a terrible idea & I don’t recommend!); pills, liquids, nasty shots of Geritol…yuck.
But my iron levels barely moved…
Picking up the kids on the last day of school…trying to act excited, but not sure how I was going to survive the summer! I dropped them at my Mom’s and immediately headed for my first (of many) Iron Infusions ๐
Ultimately, I actually quit taking iron supplements for a while, because they made me feel so terrible and didn’t do any good! As a last resort, I wound up doing months of dangerous and expensive IV iron infusions.
and yet…I still felt like I was slowly dying…Something. Had. To Change.
